Toxic Off combines turmeric, garlic, celery, pumpkin seed, amalaki and thyme for adults who look after their digestion with vegetables, beans, clean water and less fried food.
Toxic Off lists six plants plus a filler, none with an approved health claim. Here is what each one actually is:
the crunchy green stalk, here as a dried extract.
the yellow root in pilau masala; ask your doctor if you take blood thinners.
the flat seeds of the pumpkin, roasted as a snack in many homes.
a small-leaved kitchen herb with a strong smell.
Indian gooseberry, a sour fruit used in Ayurvedic tradition.
the same bulb as in the kitchen, and it can also slow blood clotting.
filler that gives the capsule its volume, with no active role.
In Dar es Salaam I ate chips mayai almost every lunch near the office.
Now I take rice, beans and greens most days. Toxic Off goes with lunch, but the lighter feeling came from changing the plate.
